Fourteen Days is Not Enough

I don't know much about Lex. This release is one of two that came out on Flip Records, a UK subsidiary of Vanguard Records. This record, along with the other (Endgames) were both produced by New York DJ legend Ray 'Pinky' Velazquez. Ray Velazquez was born in Puerto Rico, but grew up in New York. He was a major force in the mid 70's as a DJ for WCCR, NYC's City College Radio and at the Court Street Discotheque. He later became the head of A&R at Vanguard Records and produced a lot of the label's best tracks. This track has a great leftfield meets italo sound. The dubby drums and minimal instrumentation meet smashing glass for a thought provoking juxtaposition.

Would just like to say that BEAT ELECTRIC has a new fan.
Shame I cannot come to any of your events or I would be there for sure. I am a dancer from the UK any really appreciate all the tracks you have posted since 2007.
Just looked back through the older posts today, picked out some gems that I will be using for dance practise.

There is a track I am after, heard it a few months ago on a random pirate station. It has female vocals...

    "It's all about your love."

Yeah I know it's pretty vague but it is all I have to go on at the moment, any ideas?

Awesome, glad to have you. Hopefully we can pin down your tune. We are in San Francisco, there is a Blog-Hauser in London that has stolen our logo and name, but he is in no way affiliated. You can make a playlist with all of our gems on it and dance all night if you wish!

This is a Cover Version of the "14 Tage" Track by Fehlfarben. Fehlfarben is a German Punk-Funk-Synth Band (still active!)."14 Tage" by Fehlfarben came out in 1982 and has German Lyrics. I didn't knew there was a english cover version...funny...

I added the track that Lex covered to the post.

The track featured on "DISCO NOT DISCO" compilation series (Strut Rec). If I remember correctly, the fact that it covers fehlfarben is not mentionned in the liner notes. Shame, cause the original is well worth a listen!

    Hi LeBarøn,

Vanguard was incredible! Carol Williams, Fonda Rae, Convertion, Sinitta, Frisky, The Players Association, Twilight 22, Spectrum City, Rainbow Brown, even Alisha (and I forgot a bunch)! Just crazy! Pinky was amazing. Thank you for posting this.

    Peace, Jerome

Anyone else notice that the bassline of "14 Tage" is the same as Karen Silver's "Nobody Else"?
